There are two ways to go from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. You can either take a short flight or go over land with a bus. As the bus is rather cheap, and Anastasia’s general preference is not to fly, we decided to go with the bus. It is very easy to book the bus online. We used 12go.asia, which is recommended as a safe site to book online. The ticket was 22 Singaporean Dollars, with the current rate it is equivalent to approximately 15 Euros. The bus ride was in total 5 hours and 10 minutes, and the seats were very comfortable. After about one and a half hours of driving, you reach the border checkpoint with Malaysia. You get off the bus and walk through the checkpoint, get stamped out of Singapore and stamped into Malaysia, get back on the same bus and continue the ride. The bus left on time and arrived on time as the roads are very good all the way, and the drivers don’t stop all over the place to pick up people as they do in some other countries.

All in all we were very happy with our choice of taking the bus. It was much cheaper and more comfortable than economy class in the plane, and we did not have to go through all the security in the airport.
