From Ngapali Beach you can take a night bus to Yangon. The bus ride is 8 hours in a comfortable VIP bus with reclining seats. The only issue is that night busses in Myanmar usually finish the journey in the middle of the night.
So leaving at 15.00 from the bus station near Ngapali Beach, you arrive in Yangon between 1.00am-3.00am depending on traffic. The downside is that you have to check in to a hotel in the middle of the night. Overall the journey was quite comfortable.

Hello, can you tell me the name of the VIP bus company? Or how did you order it? We only found a non-VIP bus company which takes 16 hours for the trip 🙁 thank you!
Hi Melisa! We cannot recall the name of the bus company, but we booked it through our hotel at the time. Usually most guest houses have several options and can arrange everything.

Hi! We’re also looking for a bus ride from Ngapali to Yangon. Do you remember the way you drove? Because as I read there are different ways and one of them (over the mountains) sounds like a horror-trip. That’s what I just read in other blogs so this are no personal experiences. Thanks a lot for a short answer!
Hi Simon, I do not remember driving over the mountains. We booked our bus through our guesthouse: RoyalLinThar. Perhaps you can ask there which way the bus drives. Greetings, Tomer
